Hey! Welcome to another wonderful post of mine! I’ll go through a few insights or information about the holiday resort Gran Pacifica and some pictures of the Cathedral in Leon and the islands of Granada.
Gran Pacifica is a golf and beach resort with a beach front with houses and apartments for sale and for rent. It’s a huge development and is an extremely beautiful getaway that is only an hour’s drive from Managua and 20 min from the small town of Masachapa.
There is a delicious restaurant called “Sea salt” but it’s probably more economical to bring your food and cook.
The golf course is good for beginners, but isn’t really manicured if you’re expecting a high quality course. For example, the greens aren’t cut, the tee-offs are unclearly marked. We struggled to find the first hole.
Rather spend your time by the pool or at the beach. It’s really not a golfer’s paradise to be honest but worth it if you’re a beginner and just want to try it out for fun!
The beach is gorgeous but there are a lot of rocks and it is a bit rough at times.
It’s better to come in the week. There are fewer people.
Regarding COVID, all the staff wear masks and try to stick to all the safety protocols.
There are bicycles to rent for 5$ per hour. You can walk around the property and the beach of course!
There are a few residents (mostly North American and Nicaraguans I think). The drive from Managua is pretty straightforward.
September is probably not the best time to go as it rains almost every day. It gets pretty hot too so wear sunscreen and a hat.
The pool is clean and stunning but small and shallow.
Make sure to drive to Pochomil beach aka Masachapa (20 min drive) and try a local restaurant (We tried Summer) and ask the waiters what’s nice to do in the area.
If you’re interested, the “Pargo al vapor” or “steamed snapper” (a sort of local fish) at Summer restaurant is quite good.
That’s about it guys and girls! 🙂
I hope you enjoyed my post!
See you next time!
Lots of love 🙂
Emilio
