Confined in Congo

What would you do if you were stuck in Kinshasa for 7 months?

I worked, I played, I saw friends. It wasn’t too bad. I had a nice comfortable life. I can’t really complain. It could have been much much worse.

How was your confinement? Are you even still confined?

Now we are 7 months later and the country is slowly reopening. The cases are still there but are fewer and fewer. I do not trust the official data as it is extremely low.

Friends and acquaintances are healthy. Some have caught the virus, some are fighting it now, some are spreading it unknowingly. Some are even denying the virus or how serious the problem is.

My family and friends are mostly young but there are some of them that are more at risk. I need to try and be responsible and make sure, if I catch it, that I don’t spread it to them or others in general.

How has this year been for you?

How do you think you will live now that COVID is here to stay? Do you think it will ever be like before? What would you do if you suddenly had to change your whole life to survive? How would you prepare if you are forced to change everything? Do you worry about it?
